DONATE YOUR TIMEOfficers are elected annually and serve 1-year terms (term length is approximate depending on when the elections take place). The nominating committee accepts applications and nominations to the group of officers. Nominees must be prepared to meet monthly and travel once a year to the Indiana Arts Homecoming conference. This requires that nominees have the support of their fellow officers, since this commitment will require time away from work, travel costs and availability to participate in conference calls. OFFICER RoLeS & RESPONSIBILITIES PresidentResponsible for the implementation of JAA’s strategic plan, organizational administration, and programming priorities including grants and fellowships, services and support for artists and arts organizations. Vice PresidentAssists the president with daily management of JAA by creating and directing programs. Design services that benefit artists and serves as a liaison on artist issues within organizations throughout the city and state. SecretaryManages all the organization's internal communications and preparing or keeping track of meeting dates, meeting agendas and minutes from the meeting. The secretary attends all meetings to keep a detailed record of the officer's actions. TreasurerEstablishes the organization's financial status, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, and manages taxes. The treasurer also helps establish the budget for the year's programming. HistorianKeeps record of activities and achievements associated with the organization. In addition to being the event photographer and maintaining the JAA podcast "Fresh Art". Member-at-LargeServe as the liaison between the organization and membership, other non-profits, government entities, local businesses, as well as the public. Organizes volunteer and membership management. Greets members at event sign in table while validating membership. Marketing & PRCoordinates marketing and promotional efforts (advertising, press release, etc.). Organizes and researches advertising and speaking opportunities with local media outlets (newspaper, podcasts, news channels, etc.). Plus, manages organization social media platforms. |
